About the product

LifeLink has built an enterprise-grade, HIPAA-compliant technology solution to solve healthcare’s most critical patient engagement needs. We’ve pulled together a powerful combination of a web-based patient chat interface, contextual message delivery, chatbot authoring tools, and backend systems integrations to deliver conversations at scale. We also equip administrators and care providers with management and governance interfaces to monitor patients and learn from each chatbot conversation.

The LifeLink product team is split into two groups: the Platform team and the Customer Solutions team. The Platform team is responsible for all of the core technology systems, including the management portal and LifeLink’s proprietary conversational scripting language. The Customer Solutions team creates specific patient workflow products (e.g. a digital assistant that helps patients navigate emergency department visits) using our proprietary conversational scripting language that runs on top of the core platform.

About the position

As the Product Manager on the Platform team, you will own the full product lifecycle for the LifeLink Platform.

Specific work will include:

  • Define the Platform vision and roadmap to best achieve the company’s strategic goals.
  • Develop key metrics to guide decisions and measure success for individual projects and for the Platform as a whole.
  • Communicate project statuses, decisions, and roadmap to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct direct user research and customer needs discovery.
  • Collaborate with design on feature mockups.
  • Break projects down into actionable user stories.
  • Prioritize the engineering and design backlogs.
  • Conduct acceptance testing on completed stories.
  • Manage and approve frequent code releases.
  • Facilitate and help evolve agile team processes: project inceptions, iteration planning meetings, weekly retrospectives, and daily standups.
  • Report directly to the VP of Product.

Other responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of all stakeholder concerns (e.g. customers, users, technology, and design, as well as sales, marketing, customer support, etc). Represent all stakeholders that are not present to represent themselves.
  • Find creative ways to prototype solutions and validate hypotheses before full implementation.
  • Understand technical details sufficiently to productively collaborate with engineers.
  • Distinguish between potential solutions and underlying concerns. Deliver what people want/need, not just what they ask for.
  • Facilitate team collaboration and help identify and navigate miscommunications.
  • Spot implicit assumptions and ask questions that elicit creativity from the team (i.e. designers and engineers).
  • Foster a positive environment amongst a wide range of team personalities and communication styles.

Required skill set

  • Mature communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • 2+ years of product management experience leading and empowering technical teams.
  • A track record of bringing delightful, powerful, and compelling SaaS products to market.
  • An ability to understand technical discussions about architecture and implementation decisions.
  • Experience with Agile or Lean methodologies, ideally in an Extreme Programming (XP) or similar style process.
  • A strong grasp of user research and hypothesis-driven design.
  • An ability to define and prioritize product features in a complex technical and business context.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.

Other valuable skills

  • Prior experience in software engineering, design, or customer success.
  • A background in digital health design or prior experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience designing or shipping conversational interfaces.
