About the position

The Lifelink Systems Platform team is building an enterprise-grade, HIPAA-compliant technology solution that pulls together a powerful combination of web-based patient chat interfaces, workflow automation, chatbot authoring tools, and backend systems integrations. We equip care teams, agents, and administrators with management and governance interfaces to monitor and learn from each chatbot conversation.

As an Experienced Software Engineer, you will:

  • Build new product features into our conversational workflow platform, patient chat channel, and care manager and administration interfaces
  • Participate in creating agile and effective team processes and culture
  • Deliver customer value by writing efficient, reliable, high quality, extensible code with high automated test coverage
  • Work closely with other team members in a creative, constructive, and collaborative setting
  • Contribute to team decisions about system architecture and the selection of technical tools
  • Build integrations with external partner and customer systems including electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise and resolve technical challenges. Understand business concerns and contribute to brainstorming pragmatic options to address them

Required skill set:

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate closely as part of a team
  • 4+ years experience in software engineering
  • An area of proficiency: Single Page Apps, API development, AWS scripting, etc
  • Experience with modern engineering practices including continuous integration, frequent releases, test-driven development, and pair programming
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Building API services on the JVM in Spring, Grails, Play or similar
    • NodeJS applications
    • Large client side JavaScript applications

Other skills that will impress us:

  • In-depth knowledge of any of the following: Spring, Grails, Node JS, AWS Lambda
  • React SPAs: ES6, Redux, Flow
  • Exposure to other modern programming languages like Ruby, Python, Objective C, Elixir, JVM languages such as Java, Spring, Clojure, Groovy, Scala, Kotlin
  • Mastery of a particular architectural style such as: OOP or functional programming, reactive or dataflow processing
  • Dev ops with AWS and Docker containers or AWS networking
  • Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or similar event streams
  • Experience working in the healthcare sector, or working with healthcare technology
